The Problem

Internet searches are often a cause of frustration in users who cannot efficiently find what they are looking for.

Our aim was to configure a Proof of Concept (POC) search feature that can find visual content creators based on their art's key characteristic features. The goal was to make the search process simpler and more time-efficient.

For example, the POC search feature can speed up the process of finding commissioned digital designers online.

Our Approach

Brainstorming

Through team discussions, we decided that an AI enabled search feature would be the best way to combat the problem. The functionality of the search feature was based on extracting and mapping out specified characteristics of the art or designs from an existing database. A similarity algorithm would then compare these characteristics with the ones provided by the users.

Innovation

We trained and tweaked with the best ML models that could extract and compare specified characteristics. The ML models were configured to generate search results in the form of suggestions of visual artists. The suggestions were to be displayed with the artist's characteristic features that were closest to the ones provided by the user. This would help the user make an informed decision while selecting an artist.

Iteration

The algorithms were thoroughly tested and retested in the developmental stage so that the models were able to churn out the most accurate search results and suggestions.

Our Solution

Our team conceived, designed and implemented a POC for an intelligent search feature which enabled the users to find visual content creators that could work on the specific requirements provided.

The functionality behind it was that the user would specify characteristics they were looking for and the system would extract those key characteristics from the visual content creators' art. ML models, by using similarity as a metric, would then compare the reference characteristics with the extracted characteristics of the visual artists. The ones with the highest similarity will be suggested to the user.
